Viet Nam

1/6 Scale

The Viet Nam conflict has often been erroneously described as the US never losing a battle but losing the war.  A more accurate description would be loosing the campaign but winning the war.  The official goal of the US was to contain communism from spreading, Viet Nam was just one of many places threatened.  Although Viet Nam did fall to communistic forces, no other country has done so since.  Going against but a fraction of the American war potential, it took the full effort of the entire communist community over 10 years to force a victory.  By that time, other third world countries were able to stabilize their governments sufficiently that insurgents were unable to gain enough support to win.

To look at Viet Nam in any other light is not only historically inaccurate, but is a disservice to the brave soldiers, American and others, who fought and died to keep the rest of the world free from dictators.
