Description
Cone of Fire explores what could have happened in South American
waters. Chile, Brazil and Argentina all built large navies
and
several crises
did develop that, fortunately, did not escalate to war.
There are also several historical scenarios that span the
eras
covered by both Great War at Sea (including the search for the German
East Asia
Squadron) and Second World War at Sea (the search for the Graf Spee).
Cone of Fire is complete by itself, but uses the
same
core
rules that other games in the Great War at Sea and Second World War at
Sea series use, so players
that master Cone of Fire need not learn anything else to play the other
games available.
Each unit represents a capital ship or a squadron
of destroyers. Each operational square represents 32
or 36
miles of
terrain or water, depending on the game being played.
The GWAS/SWWAS system is vast, with many modules
available. Each module focuses on a particular theme and
provide counters, maps and scenarios to play. There are two
types of modules, the core and the supplements. Core games
are complete by themselves, with everything needed to play.
Supplements expand on the core modules, bringing new
scenarios and unit types to the game, but require one or more core
module to play.
Cone of Fire is a core game. It contains
everything needed to play.
