Description

The Siege of Alesia uses the acclaimed Great Battles of History system to cover one of the most unusual tactical situations in history: two great captains commanding two huge armies in a non-linear fashion.  The Roman player has Caesar, 10 full legions and auxiliaries defending a circle with an expanding center and contracting outer perimeter.  The Gaulic player had Vercingetorix and virtually every barbarian in Gaul attacking with half starved fighters and poor communications.

The game dispenses with many of the finer points of the GBoH system in order to keep the massive battle fast paced, yet retains all the enjoyment that the more complicated system.
