Description
Pegasus Bridge, Historical Module (number 4),
focuses on the
famous attack on the Pegasus Bridge in Normandy. D Company,
2nd Oxfordshire and Bunkinghamshire Light Infantry (glider) seized the
bridge just after midnight on 6 June. Reinforced by
paratroopers from the 7th Battalion, 6th Airborne Division dig in to
hold the bridge against the German 21st Panzer Division and the 716th
Infantry Division. Eight attacks were repulsed before the
Warwickshires, advancing from Sword Beach, relieved them.
The module includes 6 scenarios that highlight the
key points of the battle, as well as 2 campaign games that cover the
take over and defense of the bridge. It features new
equipment
and terrain, examples include ditches that criss-crossed the
landscape and obsolete French AFVs that the Germans pressed into
service.
The premier tactical game system, ASL allows
players to portray any
platoon to regimental sized battle from World War II.
Official
ASL scenarios span from the Spanish Civil War and Japanese-Sino War to
post World War II brushfire wars. The design your own rules makes for
limitless play.
Each unit represents a squad, crew, leader or
weapon. Each
hexagon represents 40 meters of terrain. Each turn represents
2
minutes of time.
The ASL system is vast, with many modules
available. Each
module
focuses on a particular theme and provide counters, maps and
scenarios to play. For those new to the hobby, there are
starter
kits that allow players to become familiar with the core rules.
Pegasus Bridge is not complete by itself,
ownership of the ASL Rulebook, Beyond
Valor, Yanks and West of Alamien (or its replacement module,
For King
and Country) are required to
play.
