Description
Valor of the Guards is a module in the acclaimed
Advanced Squad Leader system. This Historical Module (number 7) focuses
on the bitter fighting in the heart of downtown Stalingrad. The immense
map board includes the 9th January Square, Square of the Fallen Heroes
(Red Square), Stalingrad-1 Rail Station, Volga ferry landings, Pavlov's
House, Specialist's House, Nail Factory, Univermag and the State Bank.
Valor of the Guards spans 5 months of bitter fighting.
Players can chose from 17 scenarios and campaign games. Valor of the
Guards uses the same core rules that Red Barricades did. Game features
new equipment, personnel counters and terrain. Examples include the
German SdKfz 10/5 AA halftrack, 8+1 Commissar and rail road cars.
The premier tactical game system, ASL allows players to
portray any platoon to regimental sized battle from World War II.
Official ASL scenarios span from the Spanish Civil War and
Japanese-Sino War to post World War II brushfire wars. The design your
own rules makes for limitless play.
Each unit represents a squad, crew, leader or weapon.
Each hexagon represents 40 meters of terrain. Each turn represents 2
minutes of time.
The ASL system is vast, with many modules available.
Each module focuses on a particular theme and provide counters, maps
and scenarios to play. For those new to the hobby, there are starter
kits that allow players to become familiar with the core rules.
Valor of the Guards is not complete by itself, ownership
of the ASL rulebook and Beyond Valor is required to play.
